Accountant/Office Manager

We are looking for the right person to help support our dynamic team in a full-time, multi-faceted accounting/administration position.

This position involves a combination of accounting, human resources and general management functions.

Core Job Responsibilities

Accounting

  • Prepares reports that accurately forecast revenue and expenses based on sales and staffing models.
  • Creates Cash Flow projections
  • Prepares and reviews budgets
  • A/R
  • Purchasing and A/P
  • Reconciles and balances accounts.
  • Submits time and attendance for payroll processing and manages outsourced relationship
  • Submits monthly state sales tax
  • Assists with the state and federal tax returns.
  • Closes out the books quarterly for review
  • Prepares due diligence and compliance documentation for loans, bonds, economic development organizations, strategic partners and investors.

HR

  • Assists in developing short and long-range strategic plans for effective recruitment, development and staff utilization.
  • Works with team to project current and future staffing needs.
  • Coordinates recruitment activities with outsourced recruitment company, including preparation and dissemination of job descriptions, scheduling interviews and testing, conducting pre-interview assessments before handing off to hiring unit.
  • Performs salary and perquisite research. Advises on salary adjustments, and reclassifications and promotions.
  • Administers on-going benefits including researching new options when necessary.
  • Provides input into development and modification of policies and procedures, and recommends strategies for implementing new and existing policies.
  • Updates company handbook when necessary.

Office Management/Administration

  • Organizes and monitors office operations and procedures such as personnel, information management, filing systems, requisition of supplies, and other clerical services.
  • Assists in travel plans and management of the travel budget.
  • Establishes uniform correspondence practices and procedures.
  • Reviews clerical and personnel records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Responds to request in a timely manner.
  • Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from 4-year accredited college, CPA is a plus
  • Minimum Experience: 3+ years bookkeeping/administration experience including budget and projection responsibilities
  • Minimum Field-of-Expertise: Generally Accepted Accounting Principles knowledge.
  • Minimum Computer Experience: QuickBooks knowledge and strong Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, financial models), sophisticated knowledge of computer systems and networking is a plus.
