Building Energy Systems by Greensleeves

Greensleeves offers a better solution with no cost increase that yields a 35 to 50% reduction in energy use. Our systems also provide healthier air and odor reduction by using 100% fresh air.

Greensleeves provides a complete energy system capable of harvesting, storing and distributing energy. A common example of this type of system is the self-winding wristwatch. In some of the newer models the main power source is body movement that is harvested as mechanical energy. The energy is used immediately, or stored in a “battery” for later use. The battery is only used when the watch is not in motion. We apply the same principle of harvesting locally available energy, storing it and then distributing it to where it is needed to meet our cost and energy goals. Greensleeves technology makes the various components of this system work together inexpensively, automatically with little maintenance.

The market for building energy systems is large, but emerging technologies are highly fragmented into many companies that work independently on their own solutions. These technologies must be integrated into a complete building energy system to achieve maximum efficiency. That is why Greensleeves looks at a building as a complete system with every component integrated into an easy to install, simple to operate system.

Legacy Connected Buildings

With our solution you get:

  • significant energy savings
  • the improved comfort of radiant heating and cooling
  • the positive health effects of 100% fresh air ventilation
  • less environmental impact
  • easy maintenance, and
  • conventional construction costs

The components of the Greensleeves system are packaged into a single box we call the Energy Exchange™. The Energy Exchange™ simplifies construction and reduces cost (see below).

The Energy Chassisâ„¢

The energy efficiency advantages of the Energy Chassis™ come from integrating technologies into a single system:

  • Energy harvesting – allows the replacement of fossil fuels with free energy captured from multiple local sources (e.g. body heat, solar, plug load, and geothermal).
  • The Energy Exchange™ – an intelligent system that transfers energy from where it is most efficiently available to when and where it is needed.
  • Active thermal storage – uses normal building materials to store thermal energy for use when it is needed. This can reduce the size and cost of the heating and cooling plant.
  • Radiant heating and cooling – brings the building shell to the desired temperature and radiates that temperature instead of heating/cooling air and re-circulating the same air.
  • Automated control system combined with advanced sensors – uses software and sensor technology to automatically adjust the building energy systems to meet load requirements as inexpensively as possible.
  • Displacement ventilation – uses 100% fresh air ventilation designed to efficiently flush out the stale air in the building.

Equipping a building in this manner allows the owner to easily add future technological enhancements to the building. If the radiant and thermal storage capabilities are not included from the beginning, many of the future sources of energy efficiency cannot be added to the building later.
